The Moon is Warmer than the Sun
Where is queer hope? Who shall we worship in this capitalist jungle of cruelty and despair?
Whiskey Chow asks with her other-worldly performance, featuring moving image by digital artist Haocheng Wu, creating a cosmos of queer desire that rebels against the arbitrary categorisation of cultures and histories.
Crossing the border of life and death under the moonlight, the ancient god of gay love - the Rabbit God (兔兒神) - was born with the subversive blessings of the Chinese King of Hell. Whiskey’s performance sits between the mythological paradox of power and contemporary queer longing and idolatry, rebelling against both the domestication and the marginalization of queerness.
